The Killing is a bona fide hit for AMC. The average viewer ratings is around 2 million, which is comparable to Mad Men, AMC's most popular show. So why hasn't the show been renewed for a second season, with the finale coming up in the next month?
Michael Ausiello of TV Line spoke with The Killing's actress Mireille Enos to discuss the show's future. For one, AMC isn't a network like CBS or NBC; they're slower about making decisions on the renewal processes, especially since they don't follow the traditional fall-summer schedule.
Enos is positive about the outcome of the show: "[...] everything is pointing in the direction [of a renewal]. And I know that they’ve been very pleased with the response."
